When choosing between Flex and Ultra plans, it is important to understand the real difference in performance. We conducted a series of independent tests on identical server configurations with Ubuntu 24.04 (Flex-M and Ultra-M plans) to demonstrate the concrete benefits of dedicated CPU, even despite the fewer number of cores in the Ultra CPU server.
The test results show a significant difference in all aspects of operation. The Ultra processor with dedicated cores provides on average twice the performance in single-threaded tasks and 50% better indicators under multi-threaded load. This means faster operation of web applications, databases, code build systems, and any other applications.
The CPU steal time indicator is especially important. On Flex CPU, this parameter can reach 10-50% under load, which means that part of your computing resources are being "stolen" by other virtual machines. On Ultra CPU, this indicator is 0-2%, guaranteeing you full control over paid resources.
Ultra CPU is ideal for production environments where stable and predictable performance is critical: high-load web applications, databases, CI/CD systems, game servers, and multimedia processing.
