Statement on Technical Failure and Mitigation Efforts

Dear customers,

We regret to inform you that our infrastructure recently experienced a serious failure that impacted the operation of two Minecraft Ultra nodes and partially affected Minecraft Lite. The cause of this incident was a human error, which led to the loss of all data on the affected nodes.

We want to emphasize that the hardware we use meets the highest standards and has consistently ensured the stable operation of our servers for years. We are continuously striving to improve our services, and with the growth of our company, we decided to expand our data backup capabilities. Unlike other companies, we provide an independent backup source for free, as we consider this a priority — for both our own peace of mind and the peace of mind of our clients.

Expanding the backup infrastructure required a complete reconfiguration of the nodes where backup data is stored. To do this, we had to delete all existing backups in order to prepare the systems for the upgrade. After the reconfiguration, we updated the backup scripts on all nodes hosting Minecraft to work with the new infrastructure. Unfortunately, due to a mistake in one of the scripts, all files were deleted directly from two game nodes. As a result, we found ourselves in a situation where we have neither the current files nor backups to restore them.

What we've managed to do:

  1. Despite the incident, we still had backups of some servers made on the old infrastructure, with the last backup dated August 5. Unfortunately, this is the most recent state we could restore.
  2. We are offering 6 months of free hosting to all customers whose servers were affected by this failure.

We understand that the loss of files cannot be compensated by any temporary measures, especially if it involved work over many months or even years. We deeply regret what happened and have done everything possible in this situation. Our team has made significant changes to the backup processes to prevent such errors in the future: we rewrote the scripts, implemented mirrored RAID arrays for storing backups, increased the bandwidth to 10 Gbps, and added two levels of verification for future system updates.

We are doing everything possible to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
